ALTA & USTA Team Rules
Creekstone Estates supports ALTA, USTA, and other organized league tennis teams that use Creekstone as their home courts. The following requirements help ensure fair access to the courts, appropriate resident participation, and consistent administration of league play.
League Team Approval & Eligibility
All ALTA, USTA, and similar league teams seeking to establish Creekstone Estates as their home courts must receive approval from the Creekstone Estates Tennis Committee before registering the team.
This requirement does not apply to residents participating in individual singles or doubles league play, such as T2 or Ultimate Tennis, provided at least one singles player or one member of a doubles team is a Creekstone Estates resident.
Team captains must be Creekstone Estates residents unless an exception is specifically approved by the Tennis Committee due to unique circumstances.
New Teams must submit a New Team Form and receive Tennis Committee approval before registering with ALTA or USTA.
Returning Teams must register their team with Creekstone Estates within one week after the applicable ALTA or USTA registration period opens each season. A returning team is a team that played out of Creekstone Estates during the previous season in the same league.
Resident Participation Requirements
League teams using Creekstone Estates as their home courts are established primarily for the enjoyment and benefit of Creekstone Estates residents.
Team rosters must meet the following minimum resident-participation requirements:
- ALTA B & C and USTA 3.5 and below: At least 50% of the roster must be Creekstone Estates residents.
- ALTA AA & A and USTA 4.0 and above: At least 25% of the roster must be Creekstone Estates residents.
- Senior Teams: At least 30% of the roster must be Creekstone Estates residents.
- Junior Teams: No minimum resident-participation percentage is currently required due to more limited participation.
All Creekstone Estates residents participating in league play must remain in good standing with the Association. Residents who are delinquent in HOA assessments or other amounts due to the Association may be restricted from using Creekstone Estates recreational facilities.
Team Participation & Resident Access
Creekstone Estates league teams are open to Creekstone Estates residents who are eligible for the applicable league and level of play.
Team captains should make reasonable efforts to accommodate interested resident players. When adding a player would affect a team’s competitive level or league placement, the captain and player should discuss the matter before roster submission.
If the addition of a player would change the team’s competitive level by more than one flight, the team members may consider the effect on the team and determine participation by simple majority.
If the player and team cannot reach agreement, the matter may be referred to the Tennis Committee for review and a final determination.
Rosters, Scheduling & Practice Courts
Team captains must submit an official ALTA or USTA roster by the applicable league roster deadline.
Team schedules must be provided to the Tennis Director at least two weeks before the beginning of the season so that courts can be scheduled for home matches.
Captains requesting professional coaching for their team must submit a Team Coaching Request Form.
Captains requesting practice courts must submit a Practice Court Request Form. Approved team practice requests will generally be allocated two courts for one practice day per week during the season.
Every effort will be made to accommodate each team’s preferred practice day and time. When court demand prevents the first choice from being accommodated, a second or third choice may be assigned.
Teams that do not comply with the Creekstone Estates team approval and scheduling process may not use Creekstone Estates as their home courts.
Non-Resident Player Fees
A $25 non-resident player fee, per player, per season applies to non-resident players listed on Creekstone Estates league-team rosters.
For purposes of this fee, a non-resident is a player who does not reside in Creekstone Estates or The Cottages at Creekstone.
Team captains are responsible for ensuring that all required non-resident fees are paid. Fees are due at least two weeks before the team’s first match of the season. The applicable team roster must also be submitted by the required deadline.
Teams with unpaid non-resident fees may not be provided Creekstone Estates courts for league play until all required fees have been paid.
Team Conduct & Facility Responsibilities
Organized Creekstone Estates tennis teams should use their assigned courts and times efficiently and minimize the impact of league play on other residents seeking to use the courts.
Following league matches and practices, captains are responsible for ensuring that courts and surrounding areas are left clean and orderly. Food, trash, and other debris must be removed and disposed of properly.
Tables and grills must be cleaned after use. Umbrellas must be lowered and, if moved, returned to their proper locations. Lights and fans must be turned off, and clubhouse doors must be closed when the team leaves the facility.
Captains, team members, and their guests are expected to demonstrate good sportsmanship and treat teammates, opponents, residents, and Creekstone Estates staff and volunteers with respect.
Complaints involving player conduct may be reviewed by the Tennis Committee and may result in suspension or revocation of an individual’s tennis privileges.
Compliance & Enforcement
Team captains are responsible for ensuring that their teams comply with these rules, Creekstone Estates Tennis Rules, Court Reservation Rules, and applicable ALTA or USTA requirements.
Failure to comply with team approval, roster, payment, scheduling, conduct, or facility-use requirements may result in suspension of team or individual tennis privileges, including loss of the ability to use Creekstone Estates as a team’s home courts.
The Creekstone Estates Tennis Committee reserves the right to suspend or revoke team or individual tennis privileges for failure to comply with these requirements.
